Bali - Day 1

The flight wasn't bad - under six hours and we each had 2 seats to ourselves! Katie was on the ball. We had a driver waiting at the airport to take us to to our hotel. Great service for after midnight. The arrival was a bit odd, but not as bad as flying into Narita (Tokyo) and Incheon (Seoul) had been the week prior. We had to walk through this decontamination contraption that sprayed scented mist on you, giving your hands a special higher dosage.

On the left is the outdoor hotel "reception" area and pool. The place is fantastic! $55/night gets you a cottage complete with an outdoor bathroom and private balcony with an amazing view of the rice paddies. We had fried rice, noodles, and a fruit spread for breakfast - complementary and the best I've had!
On the left is about $500 in funny money - Indonesian Rupees with bills ranging from 1,000 to 100,000. They should go quite a ways. I'm off to get a $10 massage...

note from day 5 - the Rupiah are highly elusive!
